Cardiac Catheterization 2011 CPT changes
Cardiac catheterization involves passing a thin flexible tube (catheter) into a chamber or vessel of the heart usually from the groin or the arm. This is done for both investigational and interventional purposes. The CPT codes used to report these procedures earlier have been deleted. The new CPT codes effective from January 1, 2011 for reporting the cardiac catheterization procedures are listed below. (Also see 2012 Cardiology code changes)
