BCBS Florida After Hours & Weekend Care Payment Policy

The following article is for BCBS Florida after hours & weekend care Payment Policy, including CPT code 99050, CPT 99051, CPT 99053, CPT 99056, CPT 99058 and CPT 99060.

Effective April 13, 2012, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida, Inc. (BCBSF) will no longer reimburse separately for the Current Procedural Terminology CPT 99051. These services, including basic services, are provided during regularly scheduled evening, weekend, and holiday office hours.

Reimbursement for the primary service provided, such as the office visit, will continue to be allowed, based on the member’s agreement.

BCBSF policy regarding CPT 99050 (services provided at times other than regularly scheduled office hours) will remain unchanged, and continue to be allowed along with the evaluation and management service.

Codes CPT 99051, CPT 99053, CPT 99056, CPT99058 and CPT 99060 are not separately reimbursable and considered included in the allowance other services.
