Prosthetic Training (CPT code 97761)

Prosthetic training may be considered reasonable and necessary if there is an indication for education for the application of a prosthetic and the functional use of a prosthetic is present and documented in the patient's medical records maintained by the provider.

Periodic revisits beyond the third month must meet medical necessity requirements.

One would not expect to see more than 30 minutes of prosthetic training billed on a given date. Additional training must meet medical necessity requirements.
