CPT 99354 – CPT 99357 (DELETED) | Prolonged Service With Direct Patient Contact

CPT 99354 (DELETED): Use CPT 99354 for the 1st hour of additional time. CPT 99354 may be used for additional time on an outpatient E&M service or psychotherapy service. (other than CPT 99212 – CPT 99215, CPT 99202 – CPT 99205).

CPT 99355 (DELETED): CPT 99355 is an additional code for CPT 99354. Use CPT 99355 every 30 minutes (after the 1st hour of additional time). CPT 99355 may be used for additional time on an outpatient E&M service or psychotherapy service. (other than CPT 99212 – CPT 99215 CPT, 99202 – CPT 99205).

CPT 99356 (DELETED): CPT 99356 may be used for the first hour of additional time. CPT 99356 can be used when a medical provider spends extra time on an inpatient or observation E&M service.

CPT 99357 (DELETED): CPT 99357 is an additional code for CPT 99356. Use CPT 99357 every 30 minutes (after the 1st hour of additional time). CPT 99357 can be used when a medical provider spends extra time on an inpatient or observation E&M service.
