CPT 99467 Description: The provider accompanies (in person) a critically ill or injured child and provides care during transportation between facilities. CPT 99467 may be reported for a child who is two years of age or younger.
CPT 99485 Description: CPT 99485 may be used for the first 30 minutes (see CPT 99486 for additional time) of this procedure when the provider provides care to a child that is 24 months (2 years) of age or younger who is injured or critically ill.
The provider supervises the transport and communicates with the team before, during, and upon arrival at the receiving facility. He interprets the data of the child relayed by the transport team.
CPT 99486 Description: CPT 99486 is an add-on code for CPT 99485. CPT 99486 may be used for every extra 30 minutes of this procedure when the provider provides care to a child that is 24 months (2 years) of age or younger who is injured or critically ill.
