The provider begins by inserting a laryngoscope into the patient’s mouth to get a clear view of the vocal cords and the upper section of the trachea. The laryngoscope is a medical tool that enables the provider to view the inside of the trachea and establish airway patency.
After obtaining an optimal view of the vocal cords, the provider then inserts an endotracheal tube through the mouth and initiates its advancement towards the trachea.
