At The C.W. Williams Community Health Center, we believe healthcare is a right, not a privilege. The Medical Biller/Coding Specialist ensures accuracy in billing and coding to sustain community care.
Schedule:
- Monday–Thursday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
- Friday: 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Responsibilities:
- Review and manage billing cycles for accuracy
- Assign and validate ICD-10 and CPT codes
- Monitor insurance accounts receivable, denied or underpaid claims
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and patient account issues
- Conduct compliance audits on coding and documentation
- Collaborate with providers to clarify coding/documentation
- Maintain accurate EHR records (Athena experience a plus)
Qualifications:
- 3+ years medical billing and coding experience
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, insurance processes
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems (preferably Athena)
- Detail-oriented and problem-solving skills
- Effective communicator for patients and staff
- Associate’s degree or coding certification preferred
Performance Expectations:
- ≥95% clean claim rate
- Denial rates below 8%, resolution within 7–10 business days, ≥70% appeal success
- Accounts receivable at 35 days or less
