Maimonides Health is Brooklyn's largest healthcare system with 3 hospitals, 1800 physicians, and numerous community practices. The Professional and Outpatient Coding Specialist role is a full-time, permanent position working Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM for 35 hours per week.
Responsibilities include communication with physician office staff, billing office staff, and occasionally compliance and regulatory personnel.
Requirements & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of an ICD-10/CPT-4 coding program recognized by AHIMA or AAPC required.
- At least 1-year prior coding experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes, pharmacology, anatomy, and physiology required.
- Must pass departmental coding proficiency test.
- Good oral communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Bilingual preferred.
