Baptist Health is seeking an Inpatient Coder for a remote part-time position requiring residency in Kentucky or Indiana.
The role is fully accountable for ensuring the overall quality of inpatient coding with continuous quality improvement when needed. Responsibilities include accurate and complete coding to measure and report physician and hospital outcomes. The coder must maintain extensive knowledge of clinical coding, documentation requirements, and guidelines according to Coding Clinic and AHA Official Coding Guidelines for diagnosis and procedural coding.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree required, or Certified Coding Specialist credential with two years inpatient coding experience.
- New AHIMA credential-eligible graduates will also be considered.
- RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification required.
- Microsoft Office, EHR, and Encoder experience preferred.
