We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Optician, ideally with experience in insurance billing and claims processing. This role combines optical and administrative tasks to ensure patients receive accurate billing support and maximize their vision benefits. This position offers a relaxed, private practice setting with flexible part-time hours (16-20 hours per week).
Key Responsibilities:
Optical Duties:
- Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and lens enhancements based on prescription and lifestyle
- Take accurate measurements and ensure proper fit and adjustments
- Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and care
Insurance & Billing:
- Verify vision and medical insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments
- Accurately submit insurance claims (vision and medical) in a timely manner
- Interpret and explain coverage, copays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs to patients
- Resolve claim denials, rejections, and billing discrepancies
- Coordinate with insurance providers to ensure proper reimbursement
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies, coding, and compliance requirements
Work Location: In person
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Experience with optical duties as an Optician and familiarity with insurance billing and claims processing, including vision and medical insurance.
