The Medical Billing Specialist supports revenue cycle operations by ensuring accurate billing, timely reimbursements, and effective claim follow-up. This role works with Medicare billing, FL state websites, and billing platforms such as Qualifacts and Credible.
Key responsibilities include:
- Process medical billing and insurance claims efficiently
- Manage Medicare billing and navigate Florida state websites
- Use Qualifacts and Credible for billing and reporting
- Access and update information on state funder websites
- Analyze billing data in Excel, including pivot tables
- Track claim status and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations
- Communicate billing issues with supervisors and external stakeholders
Requirements & Qualifications
Required qualifications:
- Proficiency in medical billing and revenue cycle management
- Experience with Medicare billing and Florida state websites
- Ability to use Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables
- Familiarity with Qualifacts, Credible, and state funder websites
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and compliance with privacy laws
- Associate degree required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
Preferred experience:
- Prior experience in a healthcare billing role
- Exposure to multiple insurance providers and reimbursement processes
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with additional billing software platforms
- Knowledge of state-specific billing regulations
