Coast Surgery Center is seeking a Medical Biller for an on-site role in Torrance, CA.

Key responsibilities include creating billing batches after patient transactions have been coded, reviewing patient chart information, verifying insurance coverage, billing per procedure and contract terms, checking procedures and modifiers, applying write-offs per policy and surgery center guidelines, calculating fees, processing billing transactions, printing bills, posting billings, and sending claims.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Healthcare background preferred
- Six months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Accounting and math skills
- Computer competency
- Reasoning ability
- Basic coding knowledge
Required Skills
- Excellent communication skills and proper English grammar
- Minimum 2 years of billing experience
- Familiarity with patient accounting software, especially AdvantX
- Ability to read and understand insurance explanations of benefits and managed care contracts
- Knowledge of Internet Explorer, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook
