Tidewater Physicians for Women is seeking an experienced and certified OB/GYN medical biller to support billing, collections, and reimbursement operations in a high-volume medical practice.
The role involves processing claims, maintaining accuracy in patient accounts, communicating with patients and insurers, and ensuring compliance with medical billing regulations.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience in medical billing for an OB/GYN medical practice is required.
- Experience with medical coding systems, including ICD-10 and ICD-9, is required.
- Proficiency with medical office systems and billing software.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, private insurer billing procedures, and financial billing requirements.
- Understanding of workflow and operating procedures in a high-volume medical billing environment.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and payer regulations related to billing compliance.
- Familiarity with mainframe-based medical billing and editing systems.
- Strong keyboarding skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to build effective interpersonal relationships.
- Strong problem-solving, listening, and customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience in medical billing, collections, and/or reimbursement.
- OB/GYN medical billing experience: 2 years required.
- Must be able to work on-site in Virginia Beach, VA or Norfolk, VA.
