Join URBN Dental as a Dental/Medical Billing Lead focused on dental and OMS billing, out-of-network reimbursement, and arbitration support.
This on-site role is based in Houston, TX and is responsible for helping build a new billing and arbitration function for a growing multi-location dental practice. The position combines front office support, medical and dental cross-coding, payer negotiation, denial management, and arbitration packet preparation.
You will serve as a key leader in creating scalable billing processes, supporting fair reimbursements, and improving outcomes for patients and providers.
Key responsibilities
- Lead front desk operations, including patient welcome, insurance verification, scheduling, and payment support
- Serve as the main contact for billing questions, estimates, and account balances
- Manage end-to-end out-of-network medical billing for advanced dental and OMS procedures
- Cross-code CDT to CPT/ICD-10 accurately
- Prepare arbitration-ready documentation packets with operative notes, imaging, anesthesia logs, letters, and literature support
- Handle payer correspondence, EOBs, denials, appeals, and negotiations
- File disputes through Texas TDI IDR and CMS Federal IDR portals
- Create arbitration submissions using FAIR Health benchmarks and complexity narratives
- Train and mentor junior billing staff
- Track success rates, deadlines, and reimbursement benchmarks
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in medical billing, preferably in dental, OMS, or sleep medicine
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, CDT codes, payer portals, appeals, and denials
- Experience with out-of-network billing, arbitration, and payer negotiation
- Familiarity with FAIR Health benchmarks, NSA/Federal IDR, and Texas ARB rules
- Leadership mindset with the ability to build and mentor a team
- CPC, CPB, or equivalent AAPC certification preferred
