The Medical Billing Associate works within hospital or physician billing offices to support the timely and efficient billing and follow-up of medical claims across the Albany Med Health System.
This role focuses on pre-billing edits, introductory payer denials, and denial resolution. Responsibilities include ensuring claims meet regulatory and payer policy requirements, initiating appeals or rebilling claims when needed, and helping reduce aging accounts receivable.
The position requires the ability to work independently after onboarding and training, maintain productivity standards, and communicate effectively with peers, trainers, and leaders. The role also involves payer website navigation, reviewing payer policy guidelines, and using Epic, OnBase, and other systems as needed.
- High school diploma
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

- Strong written documentation and note-taking skills
- Ability to meet daily and weekly productivity standards with acceptable QA results
- Proficiency with Epic, OnBase, and similar platforms preferred
