NHC HomeCare Florida Regional Office is seeking an Insurance A/R Specialist to support accurate and timely collection of home care accounts receivable from Medicare, managed care, and commercial insurance. The role works under the direction of the Billing Manager and supports claim follow-up, denials resolution, and patient balance inquiries.
Responsibilities include working aged accounts reports, maintaining follow-up files until accounts are resolved, reviewing claim denials, submitting corrected claims and appeals, assisting patients with insurance balances, serving as a resource for insurance-related questions, and communicating with homecare offices regarding claims and collections follow-up.
High school diploma required; additional business and computer courses preferred.
- 3+ years of third-party healthcare billing experience
- Home health care billing experience preferred
- Experience with multiple carriers, EOBs, and claim denials
- Knowledge of Medicare and third-party insurance guidelines
- Self-motivated and able to work with little supervision
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Investigative mindset with strong problem-solving ability
- Excellent customer service and telephone etiquette
