This role focuses on outpatient medical revenue cycle operations, including managing insurance denials, submitting electronic claims, posting payments, resolving remittance issues, rebilling unpaid claims, verifying insurance authorizations, maintaining accurate patient billing records, and supporting client billing inquiries. The position also works closely with clinical and administrative teams to ensure billing accuracy and compliance.
Requirements & Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 1 year of outpatient medical revenue cycle experience
- Experience working with Medicare, Medicaid, commercial, and managed care claims and denials
- Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS
- Experience using an EHR
- Medical Billing, HIM, and/or Coding certification required
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or a 2-year degree in Medical Billing, HIM, or a Billing/Coding certification in lieu of experience
- Behavioral health billing experience preferred
- Computer proficiency, including Excel, Microsoft Outlook, electronic claims processing (837/835 files), and web portal navigation
- Netsmart AVATAR experience is a plus
Additional Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must pass drug screening and criminal background checks
- Must meet Florida driver license, vehicle, registration, and insurance requirements
- Must comply with applicable Florida laws and administrative codes, including fingerprinting and clearance requirements
