Northwest Florida Community Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Clinic Biller/Coder to support clinic billing, coding, claims processing, and accounts receivable functions. This full-time role focuses on accurate coding and timely reimbursement for clinic services while maintaining compliance with federal regulations, payer requirements, and HIPAA standards.
The position supports the clinic revenue cycle by coding diagnoses and procedures, submitting claims, resolving denials, following up on unpaid accounts, and communicating with providers, staff, patients, and insurers as needed.
Requirements & Qualifications
Minimum qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1-2 years of medical billing and/or coding experience, preferably in a clinic or physician practice setting
- Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and billing systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred qualifications
- Certification such as CPC, CCS, or CBCS
- Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
