The Account Representative is responsible for protecting the financial integrity of OakBend Medical Center by managing a portion of the organization’s accounts receivable.
Key duties include:
- Managing collections from patient families, third-party payers, government entities, and other sources
- Performing timely and accurate contractual adjustments
- Using sound judgment in charity care and bad debt considerations
- Pursuing every available avenue of payment to maximize reimbursement
- Supporting the financial health of the medical center while providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers
Requirements & Qualifications
Minimum education
- High school diploma or GED
- Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a high school diploma/GED
- Foreign Medical Graduates welcome
Experience
- Previous medical experience preferred
Licenses and certifications
- None required
Skills and abilities
- Typing speed of 35 words per minute
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of collection laws
- Strong communication skills with customers
- Ability to handle extensive phone calls
