Healthcare revenue cycle role supporting patient billing, collections, insurance follow-up, and account resolution.
- Handle inbound and outbound patient calls regarding balances, billing questions, insurance claims, and payment options
- Review and explain EOBs, coverage details, deductibles, copays, and patient financial responsibility
- Research account discrepancies and resolve billing issues accurately and in a timely manner
- Process payments securely via credit card or ACH and document account activity thoroughly
- Verify insurance eligibility and coordinate benefits for patients with multiple insurance plans
- Discuss payment arrangements, financial assistance programs, and account resolution options
- Escalate complex concerns appropriately to leadership when necessary
- Maintain accurate documentation within EMR and billing systems
- Ensure patient information is handled in compliance with HIPAA and company policies
- Meet productivity and customer service metrics in a fast-paced environment
Requirements & Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in medical billing, healthcare collections, patient financial services, or medical call center support
- Strong understanding of insurance terminology, EOBs, and patient balances
- Experience working within EMR systems and billing platforms preferred
- Excellent phone communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and manage a high-volume workload
- Intermediate computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Reliable attendance and flexibility to support business needs
