Patient Account Representative

Patient Account Representative for the Central Business Office in Canonsburg, PA. This full-time role supports healthcare revenue cycle operations by resolving outstanding insurance claims, reviewing account balances, contacting payors and patients, and helping ensure accurate billing and timely collections. Requirements & Qualifications

Position responsibilities

  • Investigate and follow up on open account balances that are 45+ days overdue
  • Contact responsible parties to determine the reason for non-payment and document all communications
  • Review younger accounts to confirm clean claims are reaching the correct payor
  • Make calls to patients, insurance companies, and attorneys regarding claim status
  • Identify and resolve issues affecting timely collection of receivables
  • Counsel patients on financial options and set up payment plans when needed
  • Request account adjustments, write-offs, and refund requests as necessary
  • Meet productivity and cash target goals
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

Preferred qualifications

  • Healthcare collections experience
  • Experience in a production-based environment with daily, weekly, and monthly goals
  • Experience receiving quality feedback and working independently
  • Comfortable with telephone collections and speaking with patients and payors
  • Ability to troubleshoot minor software and hardware issues
  • Resourceful problem-solving skills
  • Private workspace at home, if working remotely
  • Reliable Wi-Fi access
