Medical Billing Call Center Representative

This full-time, non-exempt role reports to the Director of Call Center and supports patient communication, billing-related inquiries, and payment processing in a fast-paced environment.

What you will do

  • Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Answer customer questions with a goal of resolving issues on the first call.
  • Update confidential information and insurance billing details.
  • Process credit card payments.
  • Manage tasks in internal work queues and update information as needed.
  • Respond to patient inquiries by phone regarding concerns and resolutions.
  • Work with collection agencies to provide accurate account information.
  • Respond to attorney requests for balances and correspondence, and update and bill insurance as needed.
  • Complete workflow for patient self-pay accounts, including reviewing correspondence, posting payments, and resolving concerns.

Requirements & Qualifications

What it takes to join the team

  • Experience answering high-volume calls in a call center or customer support role is preferred.
  • Previous healthcare experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer service-focused approach.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and a strong team player.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods and work at a computer.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 10 pounds.
