Physicians’ Primary Care of Southwest Florida is seeking a Revenue Cycle Specialist to join its Central Billing team in Fort Myers. The role supports patient account resolution, insurance follow-up, billing accuracy, and collection activities while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
- Review patient accounts to identify, analyze, and resolve claim and reimbursement issues.
- Coordinate questions and concerns with insurance companies to achieve prompt resolutions.
- Monitor coding and billing for errors or inconsistencies and make corrections when authorized.
- Place clear and appropriate notations in the practice management system.
- Maintain productivity within MGMA standards.
- Adhere to the strictest confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications
- One year of experience working in a high-volume medical office environment.
- Knowledge of medical billing office procedures.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local legal and regulatory provisions related to collection activities.
- Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy.
- Ability to handle interactions in a professional, friendly, and compassionate manner.
- Knowledge of methods and procedures of health data systems.
