Perform moderately complex to complex medical billing and reconciliation tasks under general supervision. The role includes electronic, paper, and invoice billing and rebilling, ensuring timely and accurate processing in accordance with Concentra and Central Billing Office policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Process billing, state reports, and transcriptions as required by each state
- Handle client bills with special billing arrangements and agreements
- Monitor transcription hold reports, claims indexing reports, and EDI billing reports
- Assist clients with special billing requests
- Monitor claim hold reports and release charges when appropriate
- Review bills thoroughly for accuracy and compliance with central business office, market, and state guidelines
Requirements & Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
- Some college or specialty training in medical billing preferred, or equivalent job-related experience
- 2 or more years of experience in medical billing
- Experience with a multi-location practice
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-9, and HCPC
- Strong customer service, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to handle confidential information in compliance with HIPAA and PHI requirements
