Wisdom is a dental billing technology and services company that helps dental practices improve insurance billing operations with expert support and custom-built tools.
The Insurance Billing Specialist is responsible for keeping insurance billing moving by submitting dental claims, posting insurance payments, and managing aging reports for customers. This role is central to supporting dental offices and ensuring accurate, timely reimbursement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and submitting dental insurance claims accurately and on time
- Following up on claims to resolve issues, discrepancies, and delays with insurance companies
- Posting insurance payments and adjustments to patient accounts
- Reconciling insurance payments with practice management software and investigating variances
- Monitoring accounts receivable and managing outstanding insurance balances
- Running regular AR reports to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Serving as the primary point of contact for insurance-related questions from dental offices and insurance companies
- Coordinating with dental offices to ensure accurate coding and documentation for claims
Requirements & Qualifications
The ideal candidate has:
- At least 5 years of experience in dental insurance claim submission, claim posting, and accounts receivable management
- Strong knowledge of dental insurance plans, procedures, and coding
- Ability to work a minimum of 8 hours per week during standard business hours Monday through Friday, 8am–5pm CST
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex billing issues with care
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and data security
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and follow-up skills
- Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
- Proficiency with Google Workspace
