The Site Billing Specialist supports billing operations, claims follow-up, denial resolution, reimbursement activities, patient balance collection, and communication with providers, staff, and patients to help ensure accurate and timely claim processing.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of billing experience in a physician practice.
- Prior coding experience preferred with CPC, CCS, RHIT, or RHIA certification.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of government provisions and billing guidelines.
- Advanced computer knowledge, including Windows-based programs.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong communication skills with physicians, patients, the public, and internal/external customers.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to understand patient demographic information and determine insurance eligibility.
- Ability to work independently and analyze data.
- Ability to type at least 45 words per minute.
- Skill in defusing difficult situations and maintaining a pleasant, helpful demeanor.
