Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
This role is part of the Payer Relations department and supports billing, claims management, and client communication. The position works in a biohazard laboratory environment and supports a national clinical and anatomic pathology reference laboratory.
Key responsibilities include handling delegated billing areas, managing claims submission and follow-up, reviewing aged trial balance reports, contacting clients, insurance companies, patients, and third-party billing vendors, processing billing correspondence, referring past-due accounts to collections, requesting medical records, entering demographic and insurance information, correcting denied or rejected claims, submitting prior authorization requests, preparing reports, and supporting ongoing training and other assigned duties.
Experience with billing, claims management, or payer relations preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively with clients, patients, insurance companies, and internal departments.
Strong attention to detail for reviewing billing records, claim errors, and demographic/insurance information.
Ability to work in a sedentary role and perform tasks requiring typing, reaching, stooping, and frequent communication.
Must be able to follow applicable regulations, ARUP policies and procedures, and safety requirements for a laboratory environment.
Capacity to manage follow-up on delinquent accounts, collections, claim resubmissions, and prior authorization requests.
