Monitors the activities and performance of physician practices to ensure that billing-related functions are performed efficiently and in accordance with department policies and procedures.
Interfaces with physicians and administrators to support financial growth and stability, including communication of new and revised procedures. Monitors fee structure accuracy, reimbursement payment schedules from third-party payers, cash deposits, and refunds. Serves as a resource for resolving complex billing situations and guides billing/clerical staff on billing and office functions. Coordinates clinical documentation requests with the business office to support timely appeals. Develops and implements policies and procedures to improve billing processes and maximize case collections. Reviews financial management practices across billing areas and recommends improvements. Performs related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree required, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience required.
