La Clinica de Familia (LCDF) is a FQHC with several locations in Southern New Mexico. For over 40 years, La Clinica has provided services to the residents of Southern New Mexico. Its mission is to empower and enrich families, individuals, and communities by providing quality medical, dental, behavioral health, and educational services for people of all cultures.
This non-exempt position is responsible for billing electronic and/or paper insurance claims to maximize third-party insurance revenue through posting of EOBs. The role also involves follow-up and tracking procedures to ensure maximum revenue collection.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of experience in a similar position preferred
- Previous experience in a medical setting preferred
- Knowledge of insurance billing procedures, ICD-9, CPT, and HCPC coding
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Math and data entry skills
- Ability to organize and maintain follow-up systems
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work effectively without direct supervision
- Ability to interpret policies and guidelines and make appropriate judgments
