USA Health is seeking a Medical Billing & Collections Specialist to support patient billing, collections, reimbursement follow-up, and account resolution for hospital and medical office encounters. The role focuses on patient and insurance correspondence, work queue management, reconciliation of accounts, and ensuring accurate billing records and payment application.
Responsibilities include answering billing calls, assisting walk-in customers, resolving complaints and disputes, monitoring in-house and incoming correspondence, working encounter queues, following up on delinquent payment plans, preparing accounts for audit, researching self-pay accounts for insurance coverage, recommending refunds, verifying employment and estate claims, reviewing discharge information for billing accuracy, supporting collection actions when needed, reconciling insurance explanations of benefits, monitoring payments and allowances, and maintaining accurate documentation and filing.
High school diploma or equivalent.
One year of medical billing and/or collections experience in a medical office setting.
Preferred experience includes hospital billing and claim follow-up for commercial plans, UHC, and Medicare Advantage.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and staff, and work regular and overtime hours as required.
Regular employees working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) are eligible for benefits.
