Responsible for developing, improving, and maintaining the billing process for medical claims in specialty pharmacy facilities. This role communicates financial and clinical information to internal and external stakeholders to help ensure payment for services.
The position works under minimal supervision and supports the establishment, management, and ongoing improvement of billing processes for specialty facilities. Limited travel may be required for provider visits, conferences, and facility training.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Medical Billing/Coding certification, Pharmacy Technician certification, or related certification preferred
Experience
- Prior experience in a customer service-related field
- Prior experience in a medical billing environment
- 12-24 months of experience as a pharmacy technician
Skills
- Broad knowledge of medications, physician orders, and pharmacy systems
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Excellent organization, multitasking, and prioritization skills
- Strong computer, keyboarding, and Excel skills
- Ability to work with accounting and reporting processes
Additional Requirements
- Must be available for scheduled shifts, including nights and weekends as needed
- Successful completion of pre-employment and/or random drug screening
- Must meet exclusion, sanction, and other employment eligibility requirements
- Must complete required HIPAA, fraud/waste/abuse, and MethGuard training
