Medical Billing Coordinator

Key responsibilities

• Perform assigned duties professionally, including interacting with insurance plans, clinics, patients, and team members
• Maintain current knowledge of correct and lawful billing practices for payers
• Participate in daily RCM processes and ensure accurate, timely completion of team duties
• Keep up to date with national SOPs, processes, and policies
• Use available job aids, websites, programs, and resources
• Support leadership with daily, weekly, and monthly reporting needs
• Maintain productivity goals while meeting quality standards
• Identify and communicate issues related to system access, payer behavior, account workflow inconsistencies, and other RCM opportunities
• Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 2 years of medical facility or medical office billing experience
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Experience with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Excel, and Teams
• Experience with automated billing systems preferred
• Knowledge of full revenue cycle processes, insurance companies, Medicare, and Medicaid
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work inclusively and effectively with diverse populations
