Responsible for accurate, detailed, and thorough medical billing processes in coordination with team leads, supervisors, and management. Works collaboratively with patients and office team members to ensure billing practices are complete and accurate. Supports a virtual team environment and contributes to national revenue cycle management operations.
Compensation: $20.00-$24.00 hourly with potential bonus.
Key responsibilities
- Perform assigned duties professionally, including interacting with insurance plans, clinics, patients, and team members
- Maintain current knowledge of correct and lawful billing practices for payers
- Participate in daily RCM processes and ensure accurate, timely completion of team duties
- Keep up to date with national SOPs, processes, and policies
- Use available job aids, websites, programs, and resources
- Support leadership with daily, weekly, and monthly reporting needs
- Maintain productivity goals while meeting quality standards
- Identify and communicate issues related to system access, payer behavior, account workflow inconsistencies, and other RCM opportunities
- Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 2 years of medical facility or medical office billing experience
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Experience with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Excel, and Teams
- Experience with automated billing systems preferred
- Knowledge of full revenue cycle processes, insurance companies, Medicare, and Medicaid
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work inclusively and effectively with diverse populations
