The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for third-party medical claims processing and supporting patients and office staff with questions related to insurance claims, authorizations, statements, and billing issues. The role includes preparing, submitting, and following up on claims for managed care, Medicaid, Medicare, other federal payers, private insurance, and workers' compensation.
This is a hybrid position with one in-person day per week at the Houston office.

Minimum of 2 years of medical insurance, healthcare billing, and collections experience in a medical practice or health system.
Prior experience with an EHR/EMR system required.
Working knowledge of medical billing, collections, payment posting, revenue cycle, third-party payers, Medicare, federal payer regulations, CPT and ICD-10 codes, HCFA 1500 and UB-04 claim forms, HIPAA, billing and insurance regulations, medical terminology, insurance benefits, and appeal processes.
CPC, CPOC, or COC certification is a plus.
Six months of previous customer service experience preferred.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and under pressure.
Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, insurers, colleagues, and staff.
Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally.
