Insight Hospital and Medical Center Chicago is seeking a detail-oriented Facility Biller & AR Specialist to support day-to-day facility billing and follow-up activities for multiple locations and specialties.
The role focuses on reviewing coding, correcting and submitting front-end clearinghouse rejections, working third-party payer rejections, and monitoring aged accounts receivable to identify and resolve claim issues. The position also involves resubmitting claims in a timely manner, communicating with insurance companies and patients, and maintaining accurate account documentation for audit purposes.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare, or related field preferred
- 3+ years of coding/billing follow-up experience in revenue cycle functions for a large multi-specialty physician office or hospital setting preferred
- Experience in neurosurgery, orthopedics, anesthesia, or inpatient billing/coding preferred
- Certification such as CPB, CPC, or CRCS preferred
- Knowledge of medical billing principles, including verification, authorization, charge posting, procedures, diagnosis, and medical necessity
- Understanding of CPT, HCPCS, CCI, MUE, ICD-10, NCD, and modifiers
- Knowledge of commercial billing procedures across multiple payer systems
- Proficiency with Outlook, G-suite, Gmail, Google Docs, Word, and Excel
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
