The Medical Biller is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and submitting accurate claims to Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, managed care, and patient balances. The position helps ensure claims compliance with government regulations and payer-specific rules, reduces denials, and supports timely reimbursement. This role is a key part of the accounts receivable process and helps strengthen downstream collections performance.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of progressive healthcare revenue cycle or facility billing experience
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Accounting, or a related field preferred
- Hospital billing experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and commercial insurance reimbursement preferred
- Understanding of revenue cycle processes, claim denial management, and collections workflows
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements
- Strong organizational, prioritizing, and analytical skills
- Ability to make independent decisions when warranted
- Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions
- Experience with electronic medical records and billing systems preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
