Memorial Health Care Systems is seeking a detail-oriented Health Information Medical Coding Specialist to join its team in an onsite, full-time role. The position focuses on accurate and compliant coding of patient records, including review of clinical documentation and assignment of diagnosis and procedure codes according to national coding standards.
The role supports hospital operations by maintaining timely and accurate reporting for internal metrics as well as external regulatory and statistical reporting requirements. It also requires careful analysis and interpretation of complex medical records.
Requirements & Qualifications
- One-year certificate from a college or technical school, or 3–6 months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines
- Ability to interpret clinical documentation across varying levels of care
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
