M-F, 40 hours, daytime, remote.
This role provides accurate and timely clinical data for billing, optimal reimbursement, quality assessment, comparative databases, physician profiling, and administrative purposes. The position is responsible for physician coding, outpatient facility coding, and correcting pre-bill coding edits and coding-related denials.
Responsibilities
- Surgery coding
- Work with the Quality Team and physicians
- Perform independent coding while meeting production and quality metrics
Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, COC, or CPC credential required
- Coding certifications required
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret medical records and other treatment documentation
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with and maintain confidential information
