Remote Coder II - Professional role with SSM Health focused on accurately coding and abstracting medical records for billing and reimbursement.
This position handles high-complexity coding work, including surgical, specialty service, higher-than-average cost services, and evaluation and management services. The role also supports resolution of coding-related denials, charge review, and claim edit follow-up.
Candidates must reside in Missouri, Illinois, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin (additional states may be considered).
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience
- 2+ years of professional coding experience
- Two years of experience required
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
Certifications
- One of the following certifications is required:
- Certified Coding Associate (CCA)
- Certified Coding Specialist - Physician-based (CCS-P)
- Certified Outpatient Coder (COC)
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
- Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
- Certified Professional Coder Apprentice (CPC-A)
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
