This fully remote Florida-based position requires strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding, DRG assignment, and compliant physician query writing. The role includes reviewing clinical documentation, validating suggested codes, completing chart abstracts, and maintaining productivity and accuracy standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Florida residency required
- RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification required
- Associate degree in Health Information Management, completion of a Coding Specialist program, or equivalent work experience
- 2 years of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding experience
- Experience with Epic and 3M 360 Encompass encoder preferred/required for performance
- Strong knowledge of Coding Clinic guidance, official coding guidelines, UHDDS definitions, and reimbursement rules
- Ability to write compliant physician queries
- Complete 30 hours of continuing education annually
