Overview
The US Oncology Network is seeking a Coding Analyst to join Texas Oncology on a full-time remote basis supporting the Research Billing Department in Richardson, Texas. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
Texas Oncology is a large community oncology provider focused on delivering high-quality, evidence-based cancer care close to home.
Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and record accurate ICD and CPT codes in accordance with coding and reimbursement guidelines.
- Work with the QA Manager and charge entry staff to ensure correct charge and quantity amounts.
- Run daily Admix reports and distribute them to sites.
- Run weekly and month-end Missing Ticket Reports and send them to the QA Manager.
- Force extract Gyn Onc claims after QA Manager approval.
- Code hospital tickets and ensure required ticket information is complete and accurate.
- Work Billing Specialist and CBO Review work files to ensure completeness and accuracy of claims and supporting details.
- Communicate with site clinical staff as needed to resolve issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Business Office Director.
Work Environment
This role may involve exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other conditions common to an oncology or hematology clinic environment. Work includes in-person interaction with coworkers and management, with minimal travel to office sites.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of the AAPC Certified Professional Coder exam required.
- Minimum of 3 years of medical coding experience required.
- Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Prior oncology experience preferred.
- Prior medical billing experience preferred.
