Coder for hospital outpatient accounts at SSM Health. This role is responsible for accurate diagnosis and procedure coding, charge review, queue monitoring, and coding query generation to support compliance with official coding guidelines and regulations. The position is remote, with candidates expected to reside in MO, IL, OK, or WI, and additional states may be considered.
Requirements & Qualifications
Required qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience
- 1+ years of hospital coding experience in same day surgery/observation is strongly preferred
- No experience required
- Must be eligible to work in one of the approved states: Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin
- One of the following credentials is required:
- Certified Coding Associate (CCA)
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
- Certified Professional Coder Apprentice (CPC-A)
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
- Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
- Ability to perform frequent keyboard use/data entry and other physical requirements associated with desk-based work
