Evergreen Healthcare Group is seeking a full-time Medical Billing Specialist to support Medicare, Medicare Advantage, insurance, and Medicaid billing activities. This role is responsible for timely billing, resolving accounts receivable issues, communicating with facilities to obtain needed documentation, reviewing eligibility when necessary, and posting adjustments.
The position is described as fully remote.
Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a long-term care business office or medical billing/collections environment
- Understanding of Medicare, insurance, and Medicaid health plans
- Insurance billing experience preferred; multi-state billing experience is a plus
- Familiarity with the UB-04 form, including revenue codes, value codes, occurrence codes, and type of bill
- Ability to contact health plans when required
- Knowledge of HIPAA and government compliance requirements
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure
- Working knowledge of computers, hardware, and software
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or training
- Positive attitude, initiative, patience, enthusiasm, and problem-solving skills
