We are seeking an experienced medical billing specialist to support a hospital-based group practice operating across multiple states, with a primary focus on Insurance Accounts Receivable under 60 days.
This role is centered on early-stage A/R management and prevention of aging, not cleanup. The ideal candidate will help keep claims moving efficiently through the revenue cycle, identify issues before they become long-term A/R, and support stable billing performance as the organization grows.
The position supports new hospital implementations, helps identify payer setup issues early, and works closely with internal teams and payers to resolve billing problems quickly.
Required experience and qualifications
- 2+ years of recent experience in a hospital-based or large group practice billing environment
- Strong experience with Insurance A/R follow-up focused on early-stage accounts (0–60 days)
- Understanding of why claims are denied and how to correct and resolve them
- Experience working with multiple payers, including commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care
- Experience supporting billing operations across multiple states or payer jurisdictions
- Experience with new hospital or practice onboarding, expansions, or implementations strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of payer guidelines, claim requirements, and reimbursement workflows
- Ability to identify issues early, problem-solve independently, and drive resolution
- Experience communicating directly with payers to resolve complex issues
- Proficiency with EMR and billing software
- Strong Excel skills for tracking and reporting
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
