Responsible for the timely and accurate submission of invoices to payers for all services and products provided. This role evaluates payments received, applies them to patient accounts, follows up on outstanding balances, and completes second-level appeals to payers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Submitting timely, accurate invoices for products and services
- Verifying authorizations, documentation, contract terms, and fee schedules
- Correctly determining quantities and prices for drugs billed
- Evaluating and applying payments accurately to patient accounts
- Mailing secondary bills, patient invoices, statements, and collection letters within required time frames
- Following up on claims, denials, and unpaid invoices to ensure prompt payment
- Maintaining compliance with contract terms, fee schedules, and HIPAA guidelines
Requirements & Qualifications
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 0 to 6 months of previous infusion reimbursement or intake/admissions experience
Skills
- Basic skill in Microsoft Excel
- Basic skill in Microsoft Word
- Must currently reside in the Pacific Time Zone to be considered
