Service Account Specialist - Billing based in the Pittsburgh, PA area, working Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern.
This role represents Quest Diagnostics to clients in a professional manner and focuses on improving the billing experience for physicians, office staff, and patients. The position supports billing education, reduces revenue loss, denials, and bad debt, and requires significant time in the field visiting client sites across Pennsylvania. Some overnight travel may be required.
Key responsibilities include:
- Improving billing data quality through customer education and account management
- Conducting client visits based on billing and coverage trends
- Supporting commercial sales with client training and billing initiatives
- Serving as a liaison for customer billing problems and coordinating resolution
- Tracking client interactions in Salesforce
- Completing other assigned duties and special projects
Required qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years of experience in laboratory or physician-level healthcare medical billing/claims
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
- Ability to travel up to 70% of the time to client sites
- Reliable personal transportation and a cell phone
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to build and maintain customer relationships
Preferred qualifications:
- College degree or equivalent experience
- Experience analyzing data to identify root causes, trends, and opportunities
- 3+ years of face-to-face customer relationship management experience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid coverage policies
