As an Insurance Specialist, you will follow up on patient accounts and confirm the accuracy of those accounts to ensure payor and patient payments are received in an appropriate amount of time.
You will work in a cancer care environment supporting billing operations and patient financial accounts, with a focus on resolving aging claims, identifying trends, communicating with payors, and assisting patients with payment-related issues.
The role is fully onsite in the Knoxville area and does not offer remote or hybrid work options.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate degree in a business-related field preferred.
At least 1 year of prior experience in a similar role such as accounts receivable, insurance verification, or electronic billing.
Minimum 2 years of combined medical billing and payment experience required.
Knowledge of state, federal, and third-party claims processing.
Knowledge of state and federal collections guidelines.
Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Must live in the Knoxville area or be in the process of relocating.
Must successfully complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of occupying the position.
