Responsible for timely responses for the Single Billing Office (SBO) Customer Service Department, including written and verbal billing account inquiries, dispute resolution, Financial Hardship program administration, Risk Management requests, and patient bankruptcy and probate accounts.
Also coordinates with vendors for subpoenas and attorney requests for billing records, assists with Customer Service ACD calls, and responds to Epic MyChart billing inquiries as needed.
Duties include reviewing deceased patient accounts, bankruptcy-related balances, financial hardship applications, electronic remits, EOBs, and chart notes to support billing resolution, insurance adjustment corrections, denial research, and collections-related follow-up.
High school diploma or GED required.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Up to 2 years of physician and/or hospital medical billing experience, including follow-up
- Up to 2 years of customer service experience
- Up to 1 year of Microsoft Office experience (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Up to 1 year of written communication experience
- Up to 1 year of Epic medical billing software experience
