Behavioral Health Group (BHG) is the largest network of Joint Commission-accredited treatment centers and a leading provider of opioid addiction treatment services. The Revenue Cycle Specialist supports the Revenue Cycle Department by facilitating claims, payments, and verifications, and by providing updates and reports on the financial stability of the treatment centers.
Key responsibilities include reviewing claims data to ensure billing requirements are met, submitting claims to private payers, insurance companies, and government healthcare programs, investigating denied claims, resolving payment discrepancies, posting payments and adjustments, balancing deposits, documenting payment activity, identifying underpayments and overpayments, and retrieving missing payment information from payers. The role also includes compliance with regulatory requirements, participation in trainings, and other assigned duties.
The environment is a standard medical office setting with interaction with patients and team members in a healthcare setting.
Qualifications and skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Denial management experience
- Strong knowledge of Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Accurate data entry and basic keyboarding skills
- Ability to work independently under pressure and manage multiple tasks
- Knowledge of basic math, accounting, and accounts receivable
- Familiarity with front desk, admissions, billing, or collections work preferred
- Healthcare experience preferred
- Valid driver's license
- Basic computer and word processing skills
- Knowledge of typical office equipment
- Understanding of NPI, taxonomy, and electronic claim submission requirements
- Ability to enforce fee collection policies
