U.S. Physical Therapy, Inc. is hiring a Patient Account Representative to support the billing and claims function for its expanding Big Rapids team. This role focuses on patient account management, insurance follow-up, authorizations, collections, and reimbursement support in an outpatient physical and occupational therapy setting.
Responsibilities include:
- Working with patients to resolve billing and payment issues
- Researching and resolving discrepancies in patient accounts
- Processing payments and refunds
- Reviewing and updating patient insurance information
- Communicating with insurance companies to obtain prior authorizations and verify coverage
- Following up on unpaid claims and denials
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient account information
- Providing customer service to patients and healthcare providers
- Collaborating with other departments to improve processes and ensure timely reimbursement
- Maintaining knowledge of current insurance regulations and coding requirements
Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of experience in medical billing and collections preferred
- Knowledge of medical billing and coding, insurance regulations, and healthcare reimbursement policies preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Waystar, and other computer programs
