At Genesis Healthcare, the Medicaid Revenue Cycle Specialist plays a key role in supporting business goals by managing claims and bills production in accordance with payer and regulatory requirements to help ensure correct first-pass remittance. This role works closely with nursing center staff to maintain accurate records and support timely payment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Auditing demographic information in the billing system to support clean billing and prompt payment.
- Directing nursing center Business Office Managers to make applicable updates in PCC and ensuring errors are corrected before batching.
- Making independent decisions on next steps needed to help claims be paid on time and support cash flow for each center.
- Identifying global payer issues and escalating them to Central Billing Office Management.
- Managing claim projects through completion for submissions to contracted insurance carriers or the state.
Requirements & Qualifications
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, or
- 4 or more years of experience in accounting, billing, or collections in a healthcare environment.
